My insides
This project explores the body as a home and the home as a site of both unease and safety. I build miniature sets and sculptural objects by hand, then merge, cut, layer, and rephotograph them. The sculptural nature of the works functions as both acts of home-making and reconstructions of memory. I’m interested in the stories we tell ourselves, the things we do and the masks we wear to create a sense of belonging. Exploring boundaries between body and object, the human form serves as object, subject and site of observation.
